2013 Woodman Hall Quilt Show

EQ's beautiful Quilt Exhibit was one stop on the Lopez Island Garden Tour but Woodman Hall sparkled as brilliantly as any garden that day!

EQ End of Show & Tell at Woodman Hall

Anne Dawson and Laurie Latta have done it again for us!

Our next Raffle Quilt top is done!

Below Anne Dawson and Laurie Latta display Anne's finished
project from last year's Gwen Marston workshop.

Anne was inspired by the 2011 Gwen Marston workshop to explore this particular pattern. Here is a peak at another of Anne's quilts based on the same pattern.

A Gwen Marston workshop means Good Times and GREAT inspiration
and NO COOKING!

But back to our June Show & Tell at Woodman Hall!

Here Nancy Givens (left) shows us her latest contribution to
the Lopez Comfort Quilt Project. Cheryl Clark is on the right helping Nancy.

Her story about the fabric on the back is a lesson for us all! Never give away fabric unless for a Lopez Comfort Quilt Project! (Kidding.)

Christy Sturgill (below right) shares the quilt she has finished using the blocks she won in January. She gave this as a gift of thanks to Darlene Demetrick for all the help Darlene has been giving her with her sewing and quilting these past many months.  (XXX in turquoise )

This quilt stands as an example in my mind's eye of what is so special about quilters, but especially the members of the Enchanted Quilters of Lopez Island. A off-island visitor at a recent EQ meeting remarked to me that she was deeply impressed by the obvious care and concern the members of EQ expressed towards one another. She said she had never experienced a quilt guild meeting quite like EQs.

The label (above) created for the back of the Valentine quilt.

Christy also participated in a Round Robin and shares her work in progress.
Only the binding left to do!

 Sail Away!

Pat Kuentzel shares the quilt her friends made her when she and husband
left Florida for good to live full time on Lopez.

Prolifici Edi Blomberg does it again.

The above quilt is made from silks brought back from her son-in-law's homeland.

The Nine-Patch Exchange executed a couple of years ago continues to surprise!

Storm at Sea you guess? Guess again!

It started out as a family joke, but Rosalie Mandich (below) has named her quilt "Fire on the Gulf" because it was made when the oil rig was on fire in the Gulf of Mexico and  colors were not those of the sea!

Anther Lopez Comfort Quilt (?) but I don't know who is holding it up!
Anyone want to take credit?

Joanne Bryant (below) shows us her completed Round Robin

Karen Alexander was so taken with the colors in this quilt that she grabbed a couple of blocks from the 1960s that she had brought to share and laid them on the quilt to show what is currently "retro" in the fabric quilt world. What goes around keeps coming around!

More of Karen's vintage quilt block collection.

Joanne Bryant won the June Block-of-the Month drawing. Expect a beautiful quilt out of the blocks below in the near future.
